one of my favorite logos

who doesn’t love getting drunk and eating shitty pizza? Pizza! Pizza! That’s the product of one of my favorite logos/mascots. Little Caesars was created by husband and wife Mike and Marian Ilitch. She nicknamed him “Litle Caesar” for unknown reasons, so when she was looking to name the restaurant, it was an obvious choice. The logo was originally sketched on a napkin by a friend named Don Silverstein.

The mascot took a shave last year, going free of chest hair. It went without much information or fanfare, probably because the updates were minimal and functional. The laurel wreath has been cleaned up. His scarecrow hands turned into distinct fingers. The facial features are more pleasant. The strokes have been cleaned up. And even the toga got a nice update with a couple extra folds and an “LC” monogram replacing the G. Overall a great evolution on a classic character.
