The Caribou Cabins will feature drive-thru and walk-up windows with no indoor seating. The cabins will be in Caribou’s brown and teal colors and resemble the Minnesota-based company’s northwoods feel. They will also sell exclusive “flavor-infused” energy drinks, like sparkling waters, juices and sodas made from coffee beans. The cabins will have select breakfast sandwiches and baked goods.

“The experience of dining in, sitting down with family and friends, won't ever go away, but these are locations where a more residential coffee shop didn't make sense,” said Kayleen Tecker, Caribou’s marketing and communications manager.

The first locations will pop up in Jordan, Burnsville, St. Peter, Big Lake, and Willmar. The company picked these locations for their easy highway access. The city of Minneapolis has banned the construction of any new drive thrus earlier this month, so don’t expect to see one there. Caribou says they plan to build several more over the next two years, including locations outside of Minnesota.

Caribou is owned by JAB Holding Co., which owns several well known chains, including Panera Bread and Krispy Kreme.
