can best buy save itself?
In a sudden change, Best Buy has adopted a revised identity. The new logo sits on top of various vibrant shades and gradients of blue. The color black is removed, completely modernizing the feel of the brand. The overall aesthetic may appear incredible compared to the previous, but does that improve the highly outdated brand?
Today, Best Buy is where Blockbuster was just before Dish Network bought them (a complete failure). Could the company modernize itself into a future, or will it go bankrupt in two years?
Let’s consider this: when you want to buy a new electronic, you don’t think Best Buy. Instead, you think about either the manufacturer or Amazon. In fact, Best Buy isn’t even a consideration anymore. Best Buy needs to find a solution to that, perhaps by turning themselves into a membership store, offering a better in-store experience, and stop overpricing everything…overall, just a focus on customer experience is what they need — but likely won’t happen. New day, new clothes, old habits.
